Choose art, dinner, or a show as your anchor
Build your Provincetown evening around one commitment, then leave time for Commercial Street. From Truro, settle parking or the return shuttle before leaving.

Arrive with parking or the shuttle decided
For a central arrival, use MacMillan Pier Lot; compare Grace Hall Lot if the walk to your planned stops suits your group. The town’s visitor page checked September 22, 2026 lists MacMillan at $4 an hour, capped at $40 a day, and Grace Hall at $3 an hour, capped at $30. Four hours would therefore cost $16 or $12 respectively. These are dated reference prices, not a space reservation or a 2027 quote. Follow the current lot signs.
From parts of North Truro and Beach Point, the CCRTA shuttle can be an alternative. Its route page links to the timetable. Match your cottage to the actual route, check service for your dates, and save the last useful return. A rental labelled North Truro does not automatically mean the bus passes its door.

Begin in the East End for art
PAAM (the Provincetown Art Association and Museum) is at 460 Commercial Street. Its exhibitions provide context for the artists and work you may see in town. Make it an afternoon stop unless that day’s opening hours suit an evening visit. The museum says it is about 0.6 mile along Commercial Street from MacMillan Pier.
PAAM’s September 2026 visitor page lists $15 general admission and free admission for visitors 17 and under; check the current page for your trip. It describes accessible galleries and baby-changing facilities, but no general visitor parking. The visit page is the right place to plan access; the calendar is where to check special closures and events.

Where should you browse?
Follow Commercial Street between your chosen stops rather than adding a second itinerary. For East End galleries, use the town’s arts guide to pick actual exhibitions, then work back toward dinner or your transport.
Allow for the return walk as well as the outward one. PAAM and MacMillan Pier are not the same arrival point.
Where could you eat, and what changes on a show night?
For a casual meal, The Canteen at 225 Commercial Street has counter ordering, indoor seating and outdoor seating toward the bay. You order before finding a seat, and it does not take reservations. Its own site lists year-round operation but different closing times by weekday, so check the day you plan to go. A weekday lunch stop is not automatically a dinner option.
For a seafood restaurant meal, Lobster Pot at 321 Commercial Street is another central choice. Its menus and visiting information say no reservations; call 508-487-0842 for current service details. On a show night, book the performance first. Provincetown Theater is at 238 Bradford Street, not in the central Commercial Street restaurant stretch. What is the family version?
Make it an early meal and one chosen stop, rather than a shortened late-night plan. Provincetown Library at 356 Commercial Street offers the Rose Dorothea ship replica and a children’s area for a daytime stop; check its closing time before making it part of an evening outing. Choose a designated driver, a confirmed ride, or a return within the published shuttle service. Save your cottage’s exact address and unit, the return stop, and the route from the stop to the door.
